Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is a condition that is also known as excessive sweating. It is a condition that can cause a lot of upset and embarrassment to some people that suffer with this. Depression has also been linked with this condition as people who suffer with this become so self-conscious, either about other people seeing sweat patches or about body odour that they do not want to go out.
There are two types of hyperhidrosis: Primary hyperhidrosis and Secondary hyperhidrosis.
Primary hyperhidrosis causes excessive sweating for no reason, mainly affecting the underarms, arms, face, legs and feet. The cause for primary hyperhidrosis is not known but it is thought to be a hereditary problem.
Secondary hyperhidrosis causes excessive sweating all around the body and is mainly brought on by a medical issue or medication. With this condition, sweating mainly occurs when someone is sleeping. There are many causes linked to secondary hyperhidrosis including pregnancy, menopause, diabetes, infection or obesity, amongst others.
